Go SOX

Well... Good News- I am happy to say, the Red Sox are back at it-widdening the pre-AllStar game gap between themselves and the Yankees. I just had to take this opportunity to cheer on "my team". Don't forget- after you have prayed for all of your regular and more serious prayer requests-please remember to pray for my sox.

Amazing

God is amazing. As I write this we are having our annual yard sale for missions. Every year we plan weeks in advance and then folks clean out their homes and we turn the church into a copy of the house from Sanford and Son. The big ? is always, "Do you think it will rain?" and once again God has provided us with a beautiful day. Plus we have a great group of teen and adult volunteers working hard for missions. I am blessed in so many ways, that even if it did rain, I'm sure God would still work things out "for the good of those who love Him..."

If you missed the sale, but still want to help our teens with their missions project, feel free to drop something in the offering or by the church office and mark it STL.

Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine!!!

Thanks for the Comments

Well- we have had a few comments lately- one was common sense that got overlooked and the other was something that never should have been overlooked. Thanks to James I will try to remember to give commentary about coffee wherever I travel. For what it is worth, the coffee in Spain and Portugal was excellent. And besides giving the local coffees a try I always bring my own travel brew machine with my roast from home-Just in case. It is either that or severe withdrawal and lots of ibuprofen.

Thanks for the great comments everyone- Pastor P

The Big Splash Was "Tacular"

Hey, no pics to post, but just wanted to say thanks to all who helped and all who came to our annual Vacation Bible School. This year's WaterWorks Park theme was wonderful. Just about everything we heard, saw, ate, created, sang, and played had some sort of water-theme and we all felt like we were riding the wave of God's love. What a great privilege to serve God in such an exciting and fun-filled way.

I still a little tired from all the events we've had this summer and next week, I leave for Kids Camp - there will be 12 of us total this year. I am also working on a weekend campout for the Missionettes in September.

As Pastor Ben said on Sunday night . . . . we're not done yet. My prayer is that God does amazing things through all the activities we plan and execute!

I'll be at camp with the kiddos next week, so it will be another long week, but they are always so full of energy that it a fantastic time. Keep us all in your prayers please. I am expecting some great things in the spiritual lives of our kids!

Till soon, Lucie

Just part of the team that went to Tijuana, Mexico.
We had a great trip. Our unofficial theme was "We're not done yet!" and that was definitely the case. God did something unexpected everyday. From a great discount at the water park with the orphanage kids to a tremendous turnout for the VBS (135 kids in a space not much bigger than Pastor's office) to meeting Josh McDowell at In & Our Burger and getting school supplies from him for the orphanage. God never ceases to amaze me. It has been a great start to the summer and there is more in store. Gotta go for know, we are getting ready to head out to the Delaware Food Bank for 3 hours of hard work and fun.

P.S. I guarantee the Red Sox will not win tonight!!!! (Tonight's the All-Star Game)

Humble for how long? Sox over Yanks 10 games!

As some of you may know, Pastor Ben is a true blue NY Yankees fan and I have been somewhat loyal to the Boston Red Sox. I was raised in Massachusetts and therefore supportive of the SOX, however, with a cautious optimism. For most of almost 5 decades I have been wanting to brag about the Sox, but then the ALLSTAR GAME comes along and the Sox usually-historically- begin to slide towards the basement.

TODAY I brag! The Sox have had the best record in all of MLB this year, they are currently standing with a .609 average and they are 10 games ahead of the Yankees! The curse of the Bambino is broken. Now to get beyond the Allstar Game and towards another World Series Championship.
