Killing Babies

With the Presidential election less than 2 months away I have found myself asking one question, and it is pointed to our nation's Democratic Party.  How can anyone be in favor of killing babies, children, infants in the womb?  We can couch this evil practice in softer words life "pro-choice", but it is and always will be murder (infanticide).

This has always bothered me, but it bothers me even more now that I am a grandfather.  I love holding my 26 month old and my 6 month old grandchildren.  In fact, I cannot get enough.  And they are so sweet and so trusting and so helpless.  And so with this image in my mind I cannot find any acceptable reason for snuffing out a beautiful little life.

Shame on all of our Senators, Congressmen and women, and even our President who not only stand by and let it continue, but are proponents of this practice.

And take a look at the spiritual reality of this as well.  The author of such concepts as "pro-choice" is satan himself.  This practice of killing infants is as old as time.  Jesus said, "the thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy."  Thank God that Herod was not successful in killing the infant Jesus.  And thank God that Jesus decided to obey the will of the Father and lay down His life for ours.

At this next election, PLEASE stop voting for people who kill babies.

We should all have some passions

Yesterday began a special emphasis of our Sunday School ministry at Praise Assembly- it was fun, inspiring, and convicting.  But ultimately it revealed one of my passions which is for small group interaction at every age level.  Not cell groups meeting in a home, but friendly structured meeting places for every generation. And I mean every age, from infants up to anyone 102 years old. And it looks like there is going to be a name change, from Sunday School to Life Groups.  And this excites me, because school connotes tedium while Life is exciting.

So- while we continue to stress the need for age level learning during this month of September, plan to come and get some LIFE every Sunday starting at 9am.

Brainwashing

I am not wishing away the last 1/2 month of August summer, but I am very much looking forward to September 2nd.  It's gonna be a great day of change- or at least the opportunity for change.  The big emphasis that day is something very dear to my heart- SUNDAY SCHOOL.  It is the start to a new quarter, a newly formed Young Adults class, and a special push to get people back into a Sunday School class.  After all- why not?  We literally have a class for every age, infant, toddler, all the way up to two adult classes.

And this is so important- because we need to counteract all of the false and vain philosophies that we are assaulted with each and every day.  We need to wash ourselves with the water of the Word, Ephesians 5:26.  In other words, "BRAINWASHING".  I sure do hope that you will plan to take part September 2nd- 9am.

A Season of Change

Many of you know that my husband's job was eliminated when the bank he was working for was sold. This happened in October of 2011.  Needless to say, it has been a long, and very draining 9.5 months.  

But I am happy to report that that season of drought has finally come to an end!

Shawn is re-employed as of TODAY!!!

I know there is a reason for why this had to happen to us, but I can't figure it out.  In Kidz Church, I began teaching a 2-part unit last week, on how life is not fair, sometimes.  Shawn losing his job was definitely NOT fair.  He was very well qualified for his position.  He was always prepared for whatever emergencies arose.  He was constantly contributing ideas and suggestions for improving the overall security of the bank.  He even assisted others in completing their objectives, putting them into "bonus" contention.  Despite all that, he was let go!  

That was not fair.  

But we learned a lot of lessons about humility and integrity along the way.  We also learned that when the people of God come together, a lot can be accomplished.  There are many, many people at Praise Assembly, who gave us moral, spiritual, and financial support through the long months.  Because of them, and by the grace of God, we were able to make it through.  I am immensely grateful.  Especially to those who gave anonymously!!!  

And so today, I enter a new season of life.  Though life is not fair, God is.  He ultimately sustained us and gave us the fortitude to keep living for Him and to remain faithful in our duties at church.  

We also have emerged from the season of drought with a greater understanding of what it means to live without, and a greater compassion for those that are also going through their own unfair moments of life.  

Please know that this season will pass.  God said so. For everything, there is a season (Eccl. 3:1)  We don't always know when the seasons will change, but we must believe that they will.

Chick fil a and first amendment rights

Chick fil a had a record sales day August 1, (not surprised) thanks to people who not only like their version of fast food but also wanted to send a message to misguided politicians who assumed the American public indifferent to their constitutional rights of free speech (they tried to censor Chick fil a's owner) and freedom of religion (all Christians should believe in God's definition of marriage).

You have got to read this great article which helps to describe the hypocrisy that exists in our nation and how it was manifested over the harmless remarks of the family behind Chick fil a.
